Our Story
What challenges we faced in K10 & K12 classes for school board and competitive exams like JEE mains / KCET :
- Every school has a different pace,
- Still rote learning is being followed at most schools.
- Schools have become a mass influx and efflux of students, there is no learning rather engulfing of information, which is being vomited in exams, and then move on to going whichever college students can manage to get admissions in. Independent thinking is not encouraged.
- Those who actually try to look for options during their late XI grade find themselves in a fix, they are looking for options like personal tuition or alternative coaching centres. They hop from x coaching to y coaching only to be more confused and find themselves in a vicious cycle time and money both being wasted. Those who go for personal tuition find it difficult finding a trusted, reliable, robust and functional tuition centre, where students are being taught to their needs. Most personal tuitions are haphazard, irregular and not following a schedule.
- There are inherent pros and cons in either fully online or fully offline classes. At most places either of them is completely followed.
Running experTUT for 4 successful years, we understood these problems. We solved them by :
- Common design curriculum and on time paced classes & extra revision session in the exam week so as to prepare them for internal school exams.
- Concept explanation by expert teachers, with visualisation and from basics so that students absorb the concepts rather than rote learning. As the famous physicist Feynman has said, you have not understood a concept fully if you can’t explain it to a 5 year old.
- We have learnt that only classes do no good, after all they are one way communication, so we came up with the concept of ‘Common Sessions’. Common sessions take place during the weekends. The following activities take place during common sessions : Students themselves teach a short topic to the class, they discuss Questions and solve them in the classroom.
- We keep our teaching and curriculum till the level of JEE Mains only, It covers state engineering exams like KCET/MHT-CET, BITSAT, VIT etc. We have designed our curriculum in such a way that school exam preparations are covered and we have separate tests for that as well.
- Small batch size of maximum 20 ensures that the student gets the optimum benefit of a competitive & collaborative environment in the classroom and individual attention.
- With years of experience and collective feedback from the students and parents, we came up with a hybrid model of online and offline learning , in-house classes at the centre are held for 2-2.5 hours and the next session is online.
We are not perfect, experTUT is a result of continuous, robust improvements over time, gaining knowledge from our previous students who came, studied and had a fun time learning, and with all these performing top notch in their exams.
